Ongoing Strikes Forces Lady GaGa to Delay Paris Shows
has been forced to postpone her Paris shows because of ongoing strikes. In its announcement released on Wednesday, October 20, Live Nation cited that the logistical difficulties have left the "Bad Romance" hitmaker unable to continue with her plan to perform at Bercy on October 22 and 23.

"As a result of the logistical difficulties due to the strikes in France," the statement posted on GaGa's website read, "Live Nation today announced that the Lady Gaga performances in Paris at Bercy previously scheduled for this Friday and Saturday 22 & 23 October are postponed until 19 & 20 December, 2010."

"Unfortunately, as there is no certainty that the trucks can make it to the Bercy for this weekend's shows, the Lady Gaga performances are now postponed," Live Nation further explained. "The December 19th concert will replace the 22-October show and December 20th concert will replace the 23-October performance."

Fans will have until November 14 to turn in their tickets for a refund or exchange them with a new ticket for either of the winter dates at their point of purchase. It is further stressed in the press release, "Tickets dated October 22 and 23 will not be valid at the new dates." The statement concluded with "Lady Gaga apologizes to her fans for any inconvenience."

Paris, France has been in the throes of civil upheaval ever since President Nicolas Sarkozy announced a proposal that lift up the standard age for pension benefit receiver from 60-62 to 65-67. As a result, a lot of workers including employees of France's oil refineries have gone on strike, which leads to fuel shortages throughout the country.
